We're Hiring — Warehouse Operator / Storeperson

Austco Polar Cold Storage is a leading cold storage and logistics facility based in Laverton North, just 30 minutes from the Port of Melbourne. We support exporters, importers, and food producers across Australia and global markets. 

 

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operator / Storeperson to join our team on a casual/ongoing basis. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced cold storage environment where accuracy, safety, and efficiency are critical. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks, containers, and transport vehicles in line with site procedures 
  • Store, check, and rotate stock accurately, maintaining product integrity and minimising damage 
  • Assist with cycle counts and stocktakes to maintain inventory accuracy 
  • Plan and execute stock movements to achieve highest productivity and utilisation 
  • Maintain accurate records using Microlistics (WMS) 
  • Carry out general warehouse housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe environment 
  • Report any safety concerns and contribute to a safe working environment at all times 

Requirements — Essential

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cold storage environment 
  • Ability to work in a cold/freezer environment 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling 
  • Understanding of OH&S requirements 
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team 
  • Reliable, punctual, and physically fit 

Desirable

  • Forklift licence (LF) 
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) 
  • Previous cold storage or food handling experience
